Ministry & Mission

Peace Lutheran Church supports a wide variety of mission partners locally and around the world.

Local Mission Partners include:

1.  Blue Valley Community Action is a social service agency in Thayer county and Southeast Nebraska, providing over 30 programs including abuse intervention, aging services, basic needs, family resources, and housing assistance.

2.  Blue Valley Lutheran Homes is a long-term care facility and assisted living facility.

3.  Campus Ministry includes a variety of campus ministries at the colleges and universities attended by college students from our congregation.

4.  Camp Carol Joy Holling is the Nebraska Synod ELCA camp we have supported and used at Ashland, Nebraska.

5.  Followers of Christ Prison Ministry is a congregation in the state penitentiary founded by the Nebraska Synod of the ELCA and served by Pastor Will Barth.

6.  Hope Pregnancy Center is an outreach to empower individuals to make healthy choices regarding sexuality, pregnancy, and parenting.

7.  KROA Christian Radio is a radio outreach bringing Christian music and programming into homes across Nebraska.

8.  Lakota Lutheran Center is a Nebraska Synod, ELCA, ministry with Native Americans in the Scottsbluff area.

9.  Lutheran Family Services is social service agency serving more than 35,000 individuals annually across Nebraska with counseling, addiction and abuse treatment, adoption and foster care services, and services to refugees and immigrants.

10.  Parkview Haven Nursing Home is our city owned service to the aged.

11.  People’s City Mission and Crossroads are outreach shelters for the homeless in Lincoln and Hastings respectively.

12.  Royal Family Kids Camp is a week of Christian camping for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Global Mission Partners include:

1.  Global Health Ministries in a ministry that supports and enhances health care ministries of Lutheran Churches in poor countries.

2.  Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry that helps people build and purchase decent and affordable homes.

3.  LCMC International Partner Church Fund provides support to LCMC congregations in countries like Vietnam and Nicaragua.

4.  LCMC Mission Church Fund provides supports to mission congregations in LCMC.

5.  LCMC Seminarian Fund supports recent LCMC seminary graduates with loan repayments.

6.  Lutheran Bible Translators is an independent Lutheran organization dedicated to making the Bible available to people who do not yet have it in their native language.

7.  Lutheran Disaster Response is an ELCA-LCMS agency responding to the needs of disaster victims in the US and the world.

8.  Lutheran World Relief works with partners in 35 countries to end poverty, injustice, and suffering.

9.  Missionary Sponsorship through the volunteers of Mission Central provides resources for Lutheran missionaries and mission projects around the world.

10.  Mosaic, a merger of Martin Luther Homes and Bethphage, is a Lutheran organization providing support for people with intellectual disabilities.

11.  Oaks Indian Mission is a faith community providing a safe and loving home to children in need in Oaks, OK.

12.  Orphan Grain Train is a Christian volunteer network sharing personal and material resources with people in need in America and around the world.

13.  World Mission Prayer League is a Lutheran community supporting service and outreach around the world.
