Ministry & Mission
Peace Lutheran Church supports a wide variety of mission partners locally and around the world to share the peace of Christ with neighbors near and far. Each month we focus on a particular mission partner and support it with a $3000 grant.2011 Mission Partners are as follows:
January, Haiti Lutheran Mission Society, USA; February, Lutheran World Relief; March, Lutheran Family Services in Nebraska; April, Disaster Response in Japan; May, Royal Family Kids Camp; June, LCMC International Church Fund, LCMC Mission Church Fund, LCMC Seminarian Fund; July, Blue Valley Community Action; August, Oaks Indian Mission; September, Children of the Nations – Uganda; October, Missionary Sponsorship; November, PVH/BVLH/Mosaic; December, Crossroads/People’s City Mission
In addition we take special offerings for various mission partners that this year include: Lakota Lutheran Center in Scottsbluff, Reaching the Unreached Ministries, and Urban Impact Ministries. Each month through an EFT program 45 members of Peace send $10 each for a total of $450 to Lutheran World Relief for hunger relief projects. We supported 5 members on mission trips this summer to Uganda, Romania, and Jamaica. This Christmas we will again be raising $15,000 to drill a deep well for a village in Uganda called Raraka. In all, Peace Lutheran Church sends about 25 percent of our offerings to support mission work beyond our congregation. We believe that Christ calls us to be outward looking and generous in our giving.
